Missing Beers in Alabama
Many fine beers are unavailable to Alabamians because of the container size restriction:
- Rogue Ales sell most of their beer in 22oz bottles. As a result, many of their core beers can only be distributed in Alabama on draft. So beer you might be able to buy on draft at a local bar (like their popular Old Crustacean Barleywine) is not available for you, as a consumer, to buy in store and take home.
- Terrapin, likewise, only distributes their Side Project series of beers in 22oz bottles and on draft.
- European beers are commonly exported in 500ml and 750ml bottles — both too big for Alabama.
