The first week of the legislature has come and gone, and unfortunately the Brewery Modernization Act has still not been introduced. The Legislative Reference Service is a state agency that researches law and writes legislation for the member of the legislature. They are currently drafting our bill based on our criteria and say it should be ready today. So our bill should be introduced next week. It’s no one’s fault. It’s just a complicated bill.
Having our bill introduced next week is not a problem. If we had introduced it this week it simply would have been sitting in committee longer. The main reason we wanted it introduced early is so that we could have a bill number. It’s just alot nicer to be able to say “SUPPORT HB##!”

Despite the FTH bill being passed last year I’ve yet to see anywhere in my town to purchase gourmet beer. Does FTH keep a list of where these beers can be purchased across the state?
As we preached all the time when we were pushing the Gourmet Beer Bill, even when the law passes these specialty craft beers aren’t going to be available in most places. There’s just not a huge demand.
After the law passed, we put a special place on our forum called “Where the Beers Are” where people can report where they’ve found good beer. That’d be a good place to start.
The old forum, or online community, is not viewable. Has it been cleared or restricted?
