A Senate update

Tomorrow will be the 6th of 30 legislative days in the 2010 session, and our Senate bill has still not been introduced. No bills have been introduced since day 3 because of the debate over the $1 billion road project proposal.

Do we have any idea of the likelihood of success of the brewery bill? I recall you guys having a pretty good feel (besides a few wild cards) for the chances of the first bill. What are our chances of success this year?

At this point, there’s really no telling. Flip a coin. The biggest concern, I think, is that most legislators don’t really know much about the bill. That’s why we created the Talking Points we showed on the previous post.

As with our last bill, the major obstacle is getting a vote. Unless we secure that, there’s no hope.

Thanks. The talking points are beautifully written. Absolutely clear and coherent. Y’all should just send them to every legislator. The rules are absurd and it simply can’t be argued that this bill will expand access to alcohol, although i said that the first time.
