There’s a cool event happening in Mountain Brook on Thursday 30th July at the Emmet O’Neal Public Library, 50 Oak St, Birmingham, 35213.

They were inspired by the passage of the FTH Gourmet Beer Bill, and are working with Western Supermarkets and Birmingham Beverage to promote a high-gravity beer tasting on July 30, 2009 from 6 to 8:30 PM.

They want to renew interest in the Junior Patrons of the Library and to raise funds for the library. Youth literacy and good beer – what more could you ask for?

    If folks have questions about the event, please call the Emmet O’Neal Library at 445-1121. The cost is $30 and the venue is limited to about 250 people.

    What’s the word on the Growlers? Checked the message board and all. I don’t care if they’re not available yet…just looking for an updated ETA.
