Congratulations Alabama!

It has been inspiring to track the progress of this change from Australia.

I will toast a Belgian beer in your state's honour.

This is wonderful. I am so happy for the FTH group and all the years of work they put into this. It shows that things can be changed on a grass roots level.

This is a victory for Alabama. Thank you Riley for not letting us down!

And yes, as earlier posts mentioned, I hope FTH works next on the container size. Although MANY beers can now be sold in Bama, the 22 oz ones like Abita Andygator and Abbey Ale cannot yet.

And they should work to change some of the antiquated brewery laws---Louisiana has several breweries and even Mississippi has Lazy Magnolia. I know we have several in Birmingham (I'm from Mobile and we only have Hurricane Brewing Co here), but aren't they restricted when it comes to bottling and selling the beer? And isn't there something restricting locations? Alabama breweries could bring in so much money if they were less restricted!

Anyhow, CONGRATULATIONS AND GO DRINK A COLD ONE!!

Just bought my tickets to Magic City Brewfest. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the FTH officers, members, sponsors, and supporters along with Governor Riley and a majority of our state legislators, the people of Alabama have regained a freedom that should have never been denied.

I have worked tirelessly trying to get people motivated, and on Facebook I stimulated Free the Hops growth.

Now we can celebrate! We can now even consider ourselves the equals of the rest of the World. That's a big change!

Great news for an ex-pat Alabamian living in Mississippi. Now we need to get something like this going in the Magnolia State. Looks like more trips home for me now!

Thanks Bob (and others)! I'll be sure to lift a beer in your honor next time I'm in Alabama.

There's another stupid law in Alabama. You can only open a brewery if it is in a certified historic building, go figure!!

by the time I called his office today, he'd already signed. such a long time in coming...glad we weren't the last state to raise the limit. i'm looking forward to helping remove the 16 oz. container limit, legalizing homebrewing, etc. over the near future.

also, looking forward to the change in the menu for the brewfest, change in the faq, etc.! :)
