This post could be–and maybe should be–very long. Our local bills were killed by certain opposing forces yesterday. I know how and why, but any statements I make about the details must fit into our overarching long term strategy. In other words, I don’t want to go into great detail right now if there is a chance that would negatively impact our chances for success in a special session this year or the regular session next year. There are many critical conversations I need to have, and tremendous effort needs to be put into calculating our response to what happened this session.
I’m sorry to be so cryptic, but my priority is the ultimate success of our efforts to reform Alabama’s beer laws. I believe that goal mandates that I hold my cards close to my chest right now.
Anyway, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We’re not going to stop until better beer is on the shelves of Alabama retailers. Thank you for your support and patience. Alabama politics is a crazy mess, and getting anything done is a monumental challenge, as the AL Senate proved this year by doing almost nothing at all the entire session.
